This scan confirms the presence of a heartbeat, the position of the fetus, confirm the number and an estimate of delivery date.

This scan looks at the nuchal translucency, and nasal bridge for any abnormalities.
Gender assessment will only be available after 12 weeks.
Patient must be between 14 Weeks - 19 weeks +6days.
This scan checks growth of the baby, liquor volume, movement and placental position. This scan does also note gender but this is a result of the medical scan performed and not the reason for doing this scan.
This scan is performed between 20-24 weeks.
Checks all structures, including heart chambers, brain, head circumference, length, liquor volume etc.
This scan is performed from 24 weeks to 35 weeks.
The scan checks the growth, weight, liquor volume, blood dopplers for flow through the umbilical artery
This scan is for post miscarriage to check that your body has recovered before trying for another pregnancy. Please do not book this scan if you want to discuss recurrent miscarriage.
The NIPT or formally Non Invasive Prenatal Test can be performed from 10 weeks and involves taking a blood sample alongside completing an ultrasound baby scan. The blood sample is sent for testing and will detect 99% of abnormalities, with the results back in 2-4 working days. The price shown includes all laboratory fees. Please ensure you have had a viability scan around 6-8 weeks to accurately date your pregnancy.
The NIPT is a non-invasive prenatal test (NIPT) with gender test that analyses the cell-free Fetal DNA circulating in the pregnant mother’s blood. It is a new option for testing for Down Syndrome (trisomy 21) and other common fetal chromosome abnormalities such as Edwards Syndrome (Trisomy 18) and Patau Syndrome (Trisomy 13). It will also test for abnormalities in the number of X and Y chromosomes which can be associated with malformations and infertility. Turners Syndrome (45x) and Klinefelters syndrome (47xxy), Triple syndrome and XYY syndrome.

3D and 4D are usually possible from around 12 weeks of pregnancy. 3D and 4D baby scans offer a chance for you to see baby in more detail and, in the case of 4D, in real-time. This can help you get a better idea of what baby will look like when they arrive.

Dr. Penman is very happy to be offer his baby scan Medway clinic and allows up to 3 people to accompany his patients during a baby scan.
Children are allowed, however we ask that under 5’s must have an adult sit with them throughout the scan. This cannot be the patient.
Dr. Penman offers scans for single babies as well as multiples (twins, triplets, etc.).
Scans for multiples take longer than scans for single babies and are also priced differently. When booking, please do make sure that you book in for the right scan, all prices are listed on the booking link.
If you book for a single-baby scan only to find out you are expecting multiples, Dr. Penman will do his best to obtain all the information within the allotted timeframe, but please be aware that you may need to book another appointment.
