What’s Included In Our SneakPeek Gender Reveal Scan:
Reassurance Scan (From 6 Weeks)
Gender Blood Test (From 6 Weeks)
Nuchal Scan at 12 Weeks

The SneakPeek explained:
The Reassurance Scan is the first scan you’ll have in pregnancy and will allow Dr Penman to accurately date your pregnancy, check the initial health of the baby and its progression so far.

Now for the exciting part…
Alongside the reassurance scan, Dr Penman will take a small blood sample from you which is then sent to a specialist clinic in California.

The results from the scan will typically be sent to you within 4 days via email. An exciting opportunity for you to find out within the early stages of pregnancy, instead of waiting.

After your initial appointment with Dr Penman, a follow up appointment will be made for you to return at 12 weeks.

During this appointment, Dr Penman will confirm the gender using the traditional method of ultrasound, complete health checks and look for certain abnormalities including Down Syndrome, Edwards Syndrome and Patau Syndrome

SneakPeek Frequently Asked Questions

  • I’ve previously had a boy, will that skew the results? – Clinical studies have shown that fetal DNA clears from the mum’s blood stream between a few hours and 2 days after delivery
  • Im having twins, can SneakPeek determine the fetal sex of each one? – In the case of identical twins, if male DNA is found, then both babies are boys. If no male DNA is found, both babies are girls, but for fraternal twins (twins that are not identical) finding male DNA will confirm that at least one baby is a boy but cannot distinguish if the second is a boy or girl.
  •  Do hormone disorders affect my results? – No, hormones do not impact the test.
  • How quickly can I get my results? – You can expect your results between 4-8pm PT  – the same day SneakPeek receive your sample. On average this is within 7 days of your blood being taken. Fetal Medicine UK have no control over how quickly you receive your test results.
  • Are results guaranteed ? – SneakPeek are the most accurate gender test and they offer that if the test result does not match the gender of your newborn, you will recieve a refund from them. * This does not include a refund from Fetal Medicine UK for the pregnancy scans you will have received.
  • Is the test ever inconclusive? – Occasionally the blood sample may not contain enough pregnancy DNA to determine the baby’s gender, if this is the case, you will be invited back for a free redraw. The scan will not be repeated unless you wish to purchase a further reassurance scan.
  • How is my privacy protected?  – SneakPeek ony tests for baby’s gender, no data is gathered regarding anything else. Your DNA sample is then disposed of by a professional chemical management company in compliance with the federal standards of California. Your results are never shared with anyone other than Mr Penman and the email you provide.
