Reassurance Scan Package

Viability (and reassurance) of the fetus. This scan confirms the presence of a heartbeat, the number of and the position of the fetus and an estimate of the delivery date. The package includes a medical report and a CD with 2D baby scan images.

Nuchal Scan with Gender Package

This scan looks at the nuchal translucency and nasal bridge for any abnormalities. If you want to learn the gender please do not book until you are at least 12 weeks pregnant. The package includes a medical report, a CD with 2D and 3D baby scan images and a DVD of 4D baby scan images (if after 12 weeks).

NIPT Test

From 10 weeks
NIPT (Non-Invasive Prenatal Test) can be performed from 10 weeks and involves taking a blood sample along with an ultrasound baby scan. The blood sample is sent for testing and will detect 99% of abnormalities. The price includes full pre-test counseling and all laboratory fees. The results come back in 5-7 working days.

Early Growth/ Wellbeing Scan Package

This scan checks growth of the baby, liquor volume, movement, and placental position. This scan does also note gender but this is a result of the medical scan performed and not the reason for doing the scan. The package includes a medical report, a CD with 2D and 3D baby scan images and a DVD of 4D baby scan images.

How long are the appointments?

Appointment times vary depending on the scan you are having. The viability scan itself is around 5-7 minutes, with discussion before and after. This will give you plenty of time to ask any questions, discuss anything you are concerned about. The later scans take longer, as Dr Penman will perform a full scan on your baby, checking every aspect of your baby’a growth and development.

When you arrive at HTC  you will be welcomed by a member of the staff who will check you in and let Dr. Penman know you have arrived. The time you have booked for your appointment is the time you will be seen – there are no waiting times when you book to see Dr. Penman privately. Dr. Penman will come to greet you and show you to the scan room. He will answer any questions you may have about your scan and your baby’s health and growth.

Who conducts the gynaecology consultations and procedures?

Dr. Penman, Consultant Fetal Medicine Specialist, conducts the gynaecology consultations and procedures.

Dr. Penman has over 25 years experience as a Consultant Gynaecologist and Fetal Medicine Specialist. He has a fully private baby scan and gynaecology clinic based in Kent, England, and specialises in numerous areas, including prenatal screening and diagnosis of fetal abnormalities, recurrent miscarriage, and infertility.

Dr. Penman will conduct the appointment and help you decide on the best course of treatment for you, including whether or not you need to have further tests or investigations.

What is Included in the Scan Package?

Dr Penman will take images throughout the scan, saving them on a CD. He will also perform 3D/4D/5D which will be saved onto a DVD (not in the viability scan). Dr Penman will give you a full scan report (explaining everything to you), a presentation image on a card, more printout images, a CD, and DVD.
